Before your first booking
How do we get to know each other?
We meet briefly with your dog first, usually at your home. You see how I handle them, we go through routine and any particulars, and then you decide in your own time.
How far in advance should I book?
For single walks, one or two days is often enough. For overnight care, holiday periods and the winter high season, please ask considerably earlier.
Do you look after puppies and older dogs?
Yes. With puppies I keep sessions short; with older dogs I keep the pace gentle. In both cases I'd advise against long mountain walks.
How it works
How do you get to my dog?
Either you're at home, or you hand me a key. Keys are stored without an address attached and returned when the arrangement ends.
Do I hear from you during the service?
Yes. A short message with a photo after every walk, and a daily update during overnight stays.
What happens if I cancel?
Please cancel at least 24 hours ahead where possible. Last-minute cancellations happen — if they become frequent, we'll talk about it.
Safety and emergencies
What do you do in an emergency?
I contact you and your vet immediately. That's why we note down your vet, an emergency number and how to reach you abroad in advance.
Are the dogs insured?
Please check your own dog liability insurance beforehand — in Switzerland it's mandatory in many cantons anyway. Bring it up when we first meet.
Do you take dogs with behavioural problems?
Often yes, and that's exactly what training addresses. For serious aggression I also recommend a veterinary assessment.
